Health nut

Finished reading Drop Dead Healthy by A. J. Jacobs.
My second Jacobs book and equally delightful. Lots of good health info dispensed with humor. I laughed out loud numerous times. While reading about health. It's true.
I'll be looking for his other books to read.

Peaceful, easy feeling

Saturday-
Last night after the boys shipped off for a fishing trip a friend/coworker and I met at 20 Brix for dinner. Bruchetta that was amazing with mushrooms and a fried egg, scallops, brussel sprouts, zucchini and cucumber, hot tea, lemon berry marscapone and 2 of the best wines I've ever tasted (bricco del sol Riesling, kerpen artist label moscato I think).
Afterward we came back to the house to watch The Help. Gorgeous movie with beautiful costuming and set design.

Today I worked in my room for awhile because, let's face it, it was a disaster after so many days away from home. I forget how crazy busy this time of the year is. And major work drama makes me long for the summertime pool lounging days I remember.

Listened to The Librarian: Quest for the Spear, Solomon's Mines, and Judas Chalice while working around my closet and laundry.
Oh and The Parent Trap- love that corny movie.

Fixed a pot of coffee to enjoy all day long as I meander around the house doing what needs to be done but not having to be in a hurry.

Sunday-
A stay at home Sunday since the boys are gone and I need some time to 'catch up' on this year's devotional read. The dogs would only let me stay in bed reading until 10:30ish, even after I took them out and came back up but still I made some headway and I'll finish up this evening before bed.

Made a batch of Butter Beer from Pinterest to enjoy today. Yowsers it's sweet and tasty.

Watched Best of Show this morning. Hilarious characterization.

I am Legend is on now. Such a good background movie to work with.

Suitcase Surprise!

Trying a new recipe my friend Jenny told me about- 3-2-1 cake by Duncan Hines. For when you need a single serving of cake. It will be out in 15 minutes so we'll see. This biggest loser diet at work is making me crave a little something after being good all weekend.
update- it was OK

Watched The Wish List on Hallmark today. Hubs asked if it was a Christmas movie or something. No. OHH yes it is a corny movie and I only revert to that at Christmas. And during stress. At work. OK well it was good. Better than yesterday's Undercover Bridesmaid.

Then I got a healthy dose of You've Got Mail playing in the background while I started reading Beauty Queens by Libba Bray. Good stuff. A student of mine who reads a lot and talks books with me said this is the best she's read in a long time YA wise. So I brought it home.

More pics from the birthday trip at Deer Creek

Aunt Yo sent Bubs some Easter goodies

Can't wait to see what's in here
Birthday goodies

Perfect Sunday afternoon- dogs, blanket from childhood, Hallmark corny movie and a book.
This is why I get no reading done. Top half- my book, bottom half- my dog who jumped up and laid down promptly acting like she fell asleep.

I can't remember where this came from but I'm going to need it when I redo the basement!
A teacher made a bulletin board for each teacher with a questionnaire and pictures. I included this fun one from high school.

Sat.ur.day (sing it)

Watching a few Hallmark movies today... I know I'm surprising myself. Undercover Bridesmaid, The Good Witch, The Good Witch Garden...

The boys are fishing and the girls are spending the day at home.

I've started laundry, cleaned house and am now sitting down to paperwork. Oh ok I'm gonna blog a little first.

On my birthday Hub's came home with these...

 the girls are adorable together
Hub's ordered my birthday cake from my favorite cake ball lady. I should order more, more often.
We went to Enoteca Emilio for my birthday dinner with two of our couple friends.

This week this saying became relevant. Again. Seriously can't believe 15 years into this job this is still an option. Dodged the bullet. Again. For now.
Yolanda thinks she's sooo funny. Ok well she is but still. Poor Stella girl so discriminated against.
Spent last Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at The Ranch for Bub's fishing kickoff.
My sleeping quarters with the dogs
 The main house

 Stella fit right in

 Got a little reading done
Took a ride on the terrain vehicle and saw a bird drying his wings

Instead of camping we slept in the barn loft
The boys slept in the other barn loft

Stella crawled on top of my purse for a nap

 Back home
Smart Talk women's lecture series hasn't been so good this year but the restaurants are great. This is Nada's. First time I've seen a TV projected through the mirror.

Last week's work hysteria made me rethink writing as a career. Of course I identify a little too closely with this to make it happen.
Our church small group is a God sent. These are the kids. Doing life.
 BED BUG!
We saw a coyote last week in the lake, Friday we saw deer on our way out.
Working hard training the new girl.

 Hard work chewing up toys.
 Bub's fishing season began today.

I finished The Mitford Series some time ago and so finally started The Father Tim novels. Home to Holly Springs is delightful. Comfort read.
Then finished 101 Things You Should Do Before Your Kids Leave Home. Its an ok list.

Made a Goodwill stop Thurs. Picked up some shoes for Hub's, crop pants for me, 3 books, a Banana Rep sweater and 2 necklaces for $27.
