Time passes so fast.
Yesterday was finally one of those days when I went somewhere and thought, "Yep this is where I am supposed to be." I don't know how I haven't heard about the Country Living Fair before last year. I couldn't go last year for some reason but this year I was determined to go alone if I had to. This place was amazing. Independent craft makers, antiques, repurposed furniture galore. Amazing styling, beautiful decor it was inspirational to a fault. It's when I look around and think, this is the look I'm going for.
One thing I did not purchase that I would have really, really like to was this pull down map for the living room. At over $100 it was too pricey for this year but maybe next. Also a repurposed skirt. Gorgeous but at $80 way too much for my budget. Worth every penny.
I was really sick but still. I'm so glad I went. We had Sushi afterward. Beautiful day. I wore my Tim Holtz necklace I made last month and people stopped me to touch it. See. I was supposed to be there. I'm already thinking of what I'll wear next year. Some of my slips layered. With a cardi and boots maybe. Definitely the necklace. And I need to make a bracelet.
Wore boots for the first time this season and the were filthy at the end of the day.
Now I'm watching The Walking Dead on someone's recommendation and thinking, "Do you know me at all?" Not sure about this one. Lorrie, Rick, Carl, Shane,
At least it has me still watching and wondering what is going on. Better than half the crap that's been on lately.
Been spending a lot of time developing the school library website lately. And working. Feels endless sometimes. But good. I know what I do for work is good. And needed. Just exhausting. Always exhausting in the beginning. I forget. Maybe that's why I go back every year. They just share so much and they hurt so much and we take it all in and it's painful. And rewarding. We refer them to people who will counsel them, set them up with food, help them talk through it all. It's hard, hard work but needed.
