206 posts later. I'm working on a reflective piece to celebrate but for now I just got in and it is 10:10pm. 5 am comes early. Went downtown to Benihana's and to the Women's Lecture Series to hear Soledad OBrein. Interesting. Later.

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow
Creeps upon us....
And it is my blog's one year anniversary. I feel like i've been doing this my whole life. Well in a way I have. Nararating, photographing, scrap booking, creating, and such. yet this format has allowed me to document in such a gratifying way.
Watching the oscars tonight and making a list of what I've learned.

A day at home...
Craziness continues. So short post this evening. I spent the entire day at home today for the first time in forever. Of course I spent it doing laundry and cleaning up but hey I did get to stay home.
I just realized Tim Allen is popular as the voice in many commercials these days such as Campbell's soup...
How are do getting to a happier place?
My life is comfortable. And these last few weeks have shaken that up a bit. Legislation that could really upset thing. More about that later.
I started reading Adventures of Huckelberry Finn last week and am pleasantly surprised at how much I like it.
I also previewed about the first 40 pages of Room by Donohogue and wow very original.
Last weekend I scrapped with a friend and watched 3 Clint Eastwood movies. Not my style.
Bub's played in a Dodgeball tournament last night and it lasted 4hours. Honest. Bub's team had game plans and everything. It was amazing to watch a team get wittled down to a 70 lb 6th grade girl against 5 8th grade boys and fights back.
I read Nutrition Action Newsletter between games and talking to various people.
Today I finally watched a whole episode or 2 or 3 of Fairly Legal. And maybe a Big Bang Theory or 2.
Last night we caught up on American Idol.
I found a former student, Brian, via Elsie's blog. Small world.
Fixed Italian sausage and egg for breakfast and Hub's brought me Chipoltle for lunch and supper and breakfast in the morning.
15weeks till the beach and I want a smaller bikini not a bigger one.
Looking back I can't believe how much Hub's achillies snafu affected us and how little I blogged about it and the generosity of others.
I had book club this past week.
Ok enough for now.

Outfits of the previous week!
I can't believe so much time has passed since I posted. I've got to slow down but with activities every night this week I don't see that happening. Just in (9:30pm) from a board meeting sporting spring colors.
Last week's continuation of the red theme. This is from Friday. I got dressed without paying attention to hubs. Once we left home very earlier and got to work I realized we matched. Cute? No. We have a meeting tonight with bub's new fishing club and I'll be meeting people who don't know I don't think it is cute to wear coordinating outfits to my significant other.
Update I seriously doubt these people care since we were the only people still in our work clothes so we already looked ridiculous.
More red themed outfits. (Thursday) I absolutely love these new Kenzie heels. Picked them up at a consign sale last fall and forgot about them. Very comfortable. The top is from Goodwill. I'll add the brand later for some reason it is slipping my mind.
This just looks like winter doesn't it. Can't wait for spring color! A close up of those cute earrings and accessories that tried to sneak in a little spring. (Wednesday)
Picked these Sam and Libby shoes up at Goodwill in January. Love the sweater accents.
And I totally forgot I was supposed to be wearing red this week so the red on my Coke can will have to do.And now I am retreating to bed with my iPad to relax before it all starts over again tomorrow.

Meat (and veggies)
I probably should have worn this yesterday but it is Valentine's Week so continuing the five days of red. Just how much red do I own? Could I finish out the month? Well the purse will carry me through anyway.
For Valentine's Day I served cookies and Starbuck's hot chocolate in the library to my lovely coworkers. The talk of late of all the changes coming our way has me once again realizing just how much I consider these people family.
I haven't really gotten to the meat of the day in awhile so some catching up...
I watched the Grammy's Sunday and frankly they were disappointing. I'm not a Bieber fan but really all the hype and the poor guy gets shafted. Performances were ok. Gwenneth was entertaining and unexpected. Gaga is just getting too into making a statement her singing is faltering. My favorite part is always the montage of who we've lost in the last year. Geesh how depressing is that. Moving on!
I finished reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and Ahhh what a breath of fresh air! Love, mystery, family secrets - it keep me reading late into the night. Also read a professional book, Reading Ladders by Lesesne that made the case for reading books based on the theme of the book increasing in complexity. Some of my girls have been talking up Before I Fall so I picked that up at the bookstore and finished late into the night one day last week. Seriously. Do not read a book in which the characters dies in a car crash only to wake up seven times over to relive her life and make realizations about who she was and then attempt to sleep peacefully. Not gonna happen. Although this book is a little edgier than what I normally feel comfortable recommending too much the overall message is SO applicable to our population I will make an exception. Great read. We can all relate.
Picked up a few from the public library yesterday...
Lauren Conrad's Style
As Always, Julia: The letters of Julia Child & Avis Devoto
Bookmarks Magazine
Lucky Magazine
The Last Mimzy
Letters to Juliet
Lost Season 1
Picked up the new Somerset Studio Artful Blogging Magazine and Michael Pollan's Food Rules. I love Michael Pollan. Ok I love anyone who can be so right and frank and healthy and just smart dang it!
Dropped by the grocery this afternoon to pick up the makings of veggie soup to try to kick start my bathing suit sprint to June. I am way behind. Again. Jennifer Hudson was on Oprah of late, I watched yesterday DVR, and wow is that chickadee inspiring! 80 lbs. Who am I to think my 30 are insurmountable? Make a decision and do it!

Love is in the air~
I'm going to attempt to wear red everyday this week! Kicking it off with glittering heart earrings, a love bracelet and argyle heart scarf.
Sunday we went to services and then took out my mother in law for her birthday. The pink over my head is a hat. I am not wearing it. It is on the mirror. Scary.
These shoes were fab for the wedding Saturday night. I picked them up at the clearance consignment sale this past January. Velvet stacked peeptoes.
And for a valentine's weekend wedding a dress with hearts down the front. Unfortunately you can't really make them out in the picture.
The hubs gave me Busken heart cookies and a handmade card.
We gave little man Red Bull, Dove and Ghiradelli chocolates. He was elated. And now he wants me to go snuggle with his homework and the iPad. Sounds like the perfect valentines to me!

#200
I didn't realize when I posted this Saturday it was my 200th post!
Not many more days of velvet and silk right? It was freezing this week but I was missing wearing my heals and skirts. So ice, snow and slick spots here I come! This silk jacket is a recent purchase from Goodwill. Earlier in the week it was more like this...
This sweater is a Christmas gift from my inlaws.
Every weekday I had something going on in the evening. A technology meeting, basketball practice, working on my certification renewal, Drs. apts, and such. Too much. I want to hibernate not run around and watch as my house responsibilities slowly disintegrate. Tired of it. I haven't blogged since last Saturday. Unacceptable. Leaves no time for reflection.
This striped Moth sweater is from the clothing exchange back in the summer.
Hubs has been on the Atkins diet for the last 2 weeks. I hate when he does this because he doesn't really follow the Atkins he just eats meat and cheese. Hardly any veggies. But it has helped me that he isn't bringing junk home. I'm down 4lbs. Way behind on that new year's goal though.
We have a basketball game today and then have to change somewhere for a wedding and reception. Awkward.

Blogger = Life Tourist
title via Pugly Pixel. I like it.
Thursday's outfit of the day. You can't tell the sweater is green. It's difficult to set up for these photos what with the lighting...

and the constant distractions :) payback for ruining the timer? A posted picture of you in your underpants. Remember that. And why do I put up with these shananagins? Because when I went in to wake him up for his ball game this morning his first word upon crawling out of bed was, "Hug?" Oh o.k.
I can't believe it is February 5th. Progress on my new year's goals are not where they should be. I'm in a funk. Too busy. Light a fire and get moving.
The boys went on the road after the game today in search of a boat. Still. 2 months shopping so far. Parents traveled to the homeland "down home" for a 'layout' after the game. I came home and am trying to put things back in order here.
No movies on the telly today worth watching yet. Funny thing not time to even sit down during the week then some time on the weekends at home to catch up some but of course I don't want to do much "work" on the weekend. I enjoy working with an already seen movie in the background. Made it work with Law and Order playing but I haven't seen them so I drift in too much and actually watch so not getting much done. Again.
Loving these pics on Ciao Bella's post...
Why can I not find Madden booties in stores that I like when it appears everyone else does? ie Create Loves
from clear scraps
I forgot about World Cat, an online library catalog that allows you to search by zipcode.
Cool collection of Buntings/Flags/Garlands from Sassy Pricilla

Whistle, Whistle, Whistle, Whistle
Bub's is learning to whistle today.
'I just don't know how you and dad can whistle so good.'
'Practice.' I said.
Why oh why did I say that. 5 hours later I can't rightly tell him to stop now can I?

Not sensible librarian shoes
Monday was Black and White day for spirit week. I was also teaching our seniors what 'steampunk' means. This is kinda steampunkish no? However these Joan and David Circa t-straps did a number on my pups. I also sported the librarian bun.
Some recent consign purchases. Michael Stars. Lux. Lucky Brand.Thrifted finds of late. Ralph throw. Elevenses cords. Theory stripes. Ruehl thermal.
More consign finds. Moth oxford. Michael Stars cardi and turtle. Fred Perry jacket. Etc. Etc.
Now these are sensible shoes. Worn on the weekend though.
Today we had ice hit after my makeup was applied and hair was in place. So I cruised blogs for a few hours. Changed since today was animal print day and I went a little crazy and reported to another area school library to observe. Interesting how much you compare when observing. Learned a lot. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.
