BiAnnual Columbus Shopping

Started the morning off with an iced over vehicle and Starbucks.
Hubs came home from hunting with Holtman Donuts. Love that guy slightly more than donuts.

Monday was the biannual One More Time Consignment sale. Made it out with only 46$ worth. I didn't find near as much as usual but that might be because
a- I am starting to feel crowded with all my 'stuff'
b- They didn't have as much as usual
c- I am poor - kidding, well sort of.
I did manage to pick up some things the most expensive being $12.

Jewelry since I had time to look this time.
A fun purse. That was like $3.

A realization- I am addicted to cloth napkins. A whole set for like 3$ who couldn't pick those up.
Those and a tartan throw came from the Consignment's furniture store called One More Time Etc. I got an extra 20% off because it all fit in the bonus box. Love that idea!

Ohio Thrift and Goodwill stops picked up a few more items. Some baskets, books, shoes- that I should have tried on bc they do not fit.
Ok just found this after picking this up at thrift Monday for $5. yep that's the thrill of the find!

Somehow out of all the times we've traveled to Columbus, Yo has never been to the North Market! So glad she got to experience it Monday.

Last night I carried a Glenda Gies handbag I picked up for $5. at a consignment clearance in Chicago. Lots of compliments and so I looked up tonight where it might be sold. On the  Glenda Gies website it sells for $150.
Thanks to Hubs our annual trip to Calvacade of Customs today was enjoyed by all. We took Bubs and a friend in, got tickets and then walked back to Starbucks in the lobby while they spread their teenage wings and took off to enjoy the show. 2 hours later the Hubs and I had read, cruised the net and watched the game on Starbuck's tv and the boys found their way back to us. Now, my friend, that was a plan.

 And if it weren't, like -20, I would have taken some beautiful shots of the architecture down town. But it was so cold. So I took a few from the heated car seat.

Last night's date with Tim Gunn was disappointing. Really. Our lecture series has had its ups and downs but Mr. Gunn was not good. He dished on people, which in moderation is funny sometimes but for some reason it just sounded petty last night. He babbled. He told us he would but really he did. Unfortunate. I did snap a preshow pic before the camera police headed our way with stink eyes.

Watched some of the Golden Globes tonight. Nothing earth shattering but entertaining background sound and walk through fashion bits.

We started planning our friends Thanksgiving for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Hubs does not know how to edit a guest list so we end up with all the people he must have there. Bless his heart. 

Lately I've been working with a student who has no family. Very difficult.  And I wonder what his Thanksgiving looks like. I've heard of 3 other kids who don't have a family to go home to at night. Again. I feel a rumbling. What can I DO. It is no coincidence this paragraph follows the one above. Things are sticky and there is a protocol with teachers and students and foster care. I'm trying to navigate the system.

I've done some reading lately that I haven't blogged about...

I continued The Cat Who series with  The Cat who Moved a Mountain 13- Braun . I always listen to these on audio because I might enjoy the readers voice as much as the books.       

A few reads from my school library. Both of these were ok and I'll be able to recommend to certain readers but I'm not crazy about them.

Judy Collins from last weekend's appearance at Books By the Banks in Cincy. Over 70 and rocking leggings and spike heels. Yeah. And she flossed her teeth on stage prior to being introduced. DIVA and she owned it.

 Dusmesh Indian Restaurant. My first Indian food and wow what an intro. Loved it. Chicken Tandoori, nan bread, and some apps.
