Pledge

I pledge to spend every remaining evening on the porch reading
these little birdies were on the windowsill for about 3 months before hubs looked up and said, "How long have those been there?"
Last Sunday a neighbor was giving hot air balloon rides for a gathering. I enjoyed from my back porch.

Friday mornings gorgeous welcome... and no I did not have McDonald's for breakfast. Hub's is on the Adkins again and getting unsweet teas in the morning. Of course then Bub's orders breakfast. And we pick up thank you coffee for the Bossman. So much for $1.

The Freshmen Mindset

Benoit College puts out a Mindset List each year to remind us how young the college freshmen are this year.
Some high points...
They were born around 1993 and they have always...
been on the internet highway
had asses to Amazon and its pleasures
known women to be in charge in the military and serve at the altar alongside altar boys
known LBJ to be LeBron James
seen women kissing women on television
had Tickle me Elmos

Unfortunate Outfit

Ok not my best fitting pants. Unfortunately I was in a rush this morning and didn't realize it until half the day was through. Live and learn.

Pride and Predjudice

Went to the poster debut for Books by the Banks Thurs. Had dinner at Bronte's Cafe prior to the talk. Great food, good friends, fabulous store. The associate who helped me was unbelievably friendly. I even picked up an Out of Print Tee...
Love it? Their whole site is amazing.

Restoration Hardware's new catalog was in my mailbox Friday and it was unbelievably gorgeous. Good stuff. Coming right along.

Locals

I'm sitting out on a garden patio in downtown Chicago's Lincoln park. Now I'm the old one who can't sleep. What a wonderful holiday weekend spent with friends. Seeing a city with locals is so much different than navigating it alone. I'm just now realizing how easy yesterday was as Colby just lead us around got us to the right bus, train, taxi. Today we will see more of the city and SHOP. Conservatively though since I'm broker than broke and moving toward living within our means. Thinking about this more and more lately.
