Bloggable?

Definitely a bloggable outfit day... constantly staff and then students (several i really don't know well) stopped to comment. how bout that? this is a goodwill dress from my akron trip.. i think it was all of $4. and i considered not purchasing it bc the colors are somewhat drab but the outfit works! i love hairsticks so this is the end of the day hairstick style...
necklace and earring set from a festival and heels from DSW... these peeptoes are actually quite comfortable all day long...
i need to find out what kind of bushes these are that frame our front porch... they are vibrant today with the raindrops glistening off their leaves...
finally getting around to putting up these goodies from the Akron trip... i actually twirled when i saw this Victoria Beckham book for $2.

relaxed by the dock flipping through magazines while bub fished so not too much blogging time... loving the weathery smell out there.

Truly Madly Deeply

this would be alot easier if my dog learned to take my picture!

with 13 days of work left i'm panicking trying to get in all my outfits! in the summer i am way more relaxed and not sure they will be all that blog worthy but maybe i'll continue to step it up a bit... since i started reading more blogs and then blogging myself i have raised the bar a bit... more structured clothing... if i'm going to put it out there for anonymous comment i feel like i have to try harder. and quite frankly when it was just me going to work everyday i had more off days. i don't consider outfit planning to be base because it is how i am able to be creative everyday. is a painter base or a writer? i think not so this is just a working girl getting the opportunity to create a little something everyday that genuinely makes me happy and i hope brightens someone else's day. or not. or creates a conversation. who knows? anywho... i laid out a few outfit choices for Saturdays LOL Live: Savings Summit 10 that Kasmira from What I Wore Today will be holding a breakout session. i'm excited to meet her and to see other possible bloggers and fashionistas. i read Londyn's blog also and since she is friends with Kasmira i'm assuming she might also be there. so yesterday i'm pulling things out of the closet and going over what i've learned blogwise...
1- these chicks rarely wear pants
2- no crop pants with flats- ouch that one hurts
3- layer, layer, layer - good since this cincy weather has been unpredictable
4- shoes are very, very important to bring the outfit together
5- more is more
so we'll see what i come with...
today's outfit seems a bit boring but i had an early meeting with some parents i've never met before so i wanted to be conservative.
i love this charm necklace. i bought the Paula Best charms and added some beads on a string.  the bracelet is a nice conversation piece with people about banned books. each tile is a title like To Kill a Mockingbird, Go Ask Alice, Alice in Wonderland... what's your favorite banned book?

i found some matching popcorn bowls at goodwill. i had some small bowls but then found the large bowl, canister and more small bowls... hubs said if i brought these home i had to actually buy some popcorn. i did. both. these little glass salt and pepper shakers i picked up at a garage sale a few weeks ago. so simple and cute.
and i forgot to share pics of my winnings from Nostalgia! Happy days pink grapefruit and wild lemongrass soap, Sweet orang wild orange cinnamon soap, Plum Tired Aromatherapy balm, Twirl Aromatherapy blam. gorgeous. smellalicious. Don't you just love getting gifts in the mail? and not fishing lures from Bass Pro mind you.

it smells like wet gravel, wet forest floor and wet hay on our walk this evening. and it's warmer outside than inside right now.

Goals 2010 Progress:

Finally!

i love this hand screened long sleeve t from one of the festivals last fall...
this is what i was going to wear to the 50's prom until the dream dress showed up so i just wore it for Mother's Day Brunch... i'm loving my new shorter hairstyle with wispy bangs... ok not so wispy here but i had already attended services and fixed brunch...
MY NEW LENS HAS ARRIVED! it was my mother's day gift one day late... ahh i've missed her so much~

everyday now bub wants to stop before crossing the dam and see if any of the fish need help...today it was almost dried up and we see one lone bass on its side surely it's dead but we have to pull in for him to run down and see and low and behold he's barely breathing one side all dried up... bub grabs him and runs.. hubs goes with him and they acclimate him back into the lake... no joke.. now they may very well fish him back out tomorrow for the Big Fish Tourny but it's catch and release so no biggie right?

Goals 2010 Progress:

Plan+ up on time, dishes, vacuum, putting things back in to place after the weekend...

Exercise+ 30 on recumbent bike this morning reading, walked marina 30 this afternoon, i have 6 weeks until this reunion and i need to be as strict as possible to get to my goal...

Meals+ cheese and ww crackers, 32 oz water, coke zero, meat, spinach salad, yogurt, chips and salsa

Reads+ I started reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn a few days ago and this is the reason I'm in a book club. With all the new choices coming out i'm not sure i would have ever picked up this classic but now that i'm reading it i am so glad i have the opportunity to not only experience it but to discuss it in about a month... it is so beautifully worded.

Mother's Day Visits

so yes i was the only one dressed to the 50's theme but i really enjoyed it. the glasses are my mom's when she was younger and the dress is borrowed from a friend. it still had the tags on it. how gorgeous is that dress?

my sis and i visited the new krogers store across from church and picked up some goodies for our mothers day brunch. at her house we grilled filet mignon, kabobs, corn on the cob and then made mac and cheese. i brought the jungle jim's cheese and sausages, grapes, tortilla chips and lots of dips. oh and olive bread and cheese bread. yum it was all wonderful with some vines. afterward we relaxed in her hot tub, checked out her new composter and took cat naps before digging into the desserts... cupcakes, german chocolate brownies, cheesecake, carrot cake and pineapple upside down cake... it is surely a cheat day in every imaginable way. i'll insert pics tomorrow as my hubs has the camera and hasn't made it home yet.

off to the other moms to grill out burgers (i know i was so not hungry but polite) and hang out for a bit (i snuck on the comp for a while and blog cruised)

now i'm home and have forgotten all i wanted to blog today...oh! when is saw my SIL had a Starbucks candy cane straw i told her about bub losing mine. now i loved that stupid straw. i oogled in since nov. asked for it for christmas and the boys waited so long to get it i nearly bought it myself. instead the boys went to several stores to find one and finally had the luck of running into a former student working there who offered to sell them hers out of her locker... then about a month ago i came home to see bubs using my straw in one of his cups!!! he had a friend over so i refrained from showing my true colors of leaping across the table to wrestle it out of his skinny little hands. only to days later notice it is still missing... nothing, no where, i remind him every day how much i miss that stupid little straw.. i am a person who cherished the little things in life. . . until their son throws them away (or in his defense misplaces them or their dad mistakenly throws them away- whatever) he even tried to replace it via amazon...  it currently sells for about $70.   anywho my SIL opens the cabinet and has like 5! seriously.. she offers to trade is i bring her a plain one... since i nearly break into tears she goes ahead and gives me a long green one to use until i get a new one... i know this seems like such a small gesture folks but it means so much and now bubs can continue on without being hounded about a straw.. well after he replaces the green one with the candy cane one :)

The Barbies

i subscribe to a few youtube girls videos called The Barbies. just entered to win these heart sunglasses from Carly to glam up the summer. they are from urban outfitters.. i like her fashion/makeup videos and the giveaways are  a plus! but my fav is Hahn and she had a new post today too...

i am in withdraw not having my good camera lens... i see great photos everywhere and will never take for granted how wonderful my micro lens is... seriously i am so sorry i did not use you to your full potential and i promise to be better to your replacement...

i went to Wildflower Salon today and had my hair done by C. a girl from high school.. love it. she cut, relayered and straightened. i took some pics with my small nikon but deleted them all... maybe better ones tomorrow. i went ahead and fixed my hair for tonight's 50's prom. an updo. i told hubs today i think i might be the only one taking this prom literally this evening. 'really..' he replied. but hey he gets me thank God. i'm so excited to put the hair with the dress with the shoes with the purse i can hardly stand it. this is how the blog makes sense to me... i know i am a wierdo but i enjoy it and i can blog about it... ahhh....

Delish

the new family of birds moved into the real bird house...

the boys came home and immediately went fishing.. not a bad catch for an afternoon...

fridays are breakfast days... the one day of the week i let bub go to the caf and charge his 'breakfast' of Poptarts, juice, superdonut and whatever else sugary goodness he can find... i walked down the hall with him this morning and he interlaced fingers with me :) how much longer will he do this? not long enough... (of course as soon as people came into view he dropped my hand like a hot coal but hey a few minutes of bliss...

spring is here with all the mossy smells, birds chirping, hot wind, and  gorgeous greenness. our walks are just heavenly.

Goals 2010 Progress:

Meals= i'm thinking i should probably just blog about all the food people bless me with instead of struggle to keep to clean eating... earlier this week a friend brought in a strawberry crepe the morning i had gripped to hubs when the scale cursed me again... he stood by as she handed me the plate waited patiently while we chatted then as soon as she left he said "that's why. people are constantly giving you food. it's everywhere seriously." and he's right. so today was carry in and two people came in yesterday to prepare me for their creations today.  a peanut butter crunch pie and a chocolate eclair pie. both were delish and i only took a sliver of each. then students came down with another piece of the eclair s. had left over. thanks s. can i help it they know how much i appreciate their goodness?

Exercise= we both hit our alarms off instead of snooze today and were lucky to make it to work. no smoothies. dry toast and splenda Kool aid. yum.

"yeah i'd date her until you found something about her you don't like.... no... bc she's a psycho... so now j. has a girlfriend too?!?!... whose next... no she just threw a chicken nugget at me... " i don't think he knows i'm sitting over here- tee hee hee.

very stressful month at work... counting down the days till summer... big plans for all those days off. well i do have to work some days but i have big plans for those too. i love making a plan but the implementing well that's a different story.
