Hocking Hills

Just back from a lovely weekend with great friends and mentors. These ladies are crazy, inspirational and a barrel of laughs. We met at J's and rode into Lancaster for dinner at The Shaw's Inn Restaurant and that was a treat. Micro greens, ramps and a Rosemary Clooney to drink. Good stuff. Then off to the  cabin, Hideaway Cabins, set back into the hillside at Hocking Hills. Cute and cozy. We had some drinks and stayed up talking till late. Saturday we lounged around and drank coffee until someone decided we should eat something! We fixed brie and jam sandwiches, mimosas, dips, chips and goodness knows what else and then went for a long hike out to Old Man's Cave. Crazy beautiful. Today we packed up and drove to Circleville for brunch at Goodwin's Family Restaurant for lunch buffet and pie. Good good times.
"It's my friggin' retirement you bring me food!"
"We need ice cream and we're getting the good stuff non of that crap ice cream!"

Apparently I know everything

So the other day Bubs came home and asked me if I knew some people think Macklemore is gay. Yes, I said, I did know that and that's because blah blah blah and he blah blah and now he has an ad with blah.
"Geesh! I work hard to bring new information home and you already know everything! How do you know everything?!?!"
Score

Saturday, every days

coffee. good strong coffee. milk. flavorings. Saturday relaxing with the pups, comp and hallmark mystery movies.

Mystery Woman. I haven't seen the pilot before so this was interesting. It's actually very bad plot lines and worse acting but whatever. I like them. Next up Mystery Woman: At First Sight. Then maybe a viewing of You've Got Mail.

Girl's weekend planning...

Laundry, dishes, putting things back in place. Helping Bubs clean up his room, organize his games.
Boys went fishing this morning then hang out then go to work at someone else's house.
I surveyed the pantry. Did some paperwork.

Not loving Frank

Our staff book club is reading Loving Frank and visiting one of his houses in Springfield. I finished it last night and it was interesting. A sad, tragic ending to a love affair. What a sad, complicated life behind the genius that was Frank Lloyd Wright. The book focuses on the love affair he had with a mistress and how the tragic ending. I'm not a lover of the book. I don't have a tolerance for cheating spouses. Don't understand it really. Stop one relationship before starting another. He had like 6 kids with his wife. Really? You didn't figure out you didn't love her? Sheesh. Enough. I don't want to read about it.

The things people say...

The things people say in real life...
I think I'm insecure.
I want to hurt people.
I want to hurt myself.
I want them to be proud of me.
You'll be proud of me.
I'm not as pretty as her.
I'm hungry and I don't have any lunch money.
My mom got arrested this weekend.
I don't want to go home.
I wish we didn't have spring break I'd rather be here.
This library is my favorite place.
You're really funny.

I'm really amazed everyday how much people tell me. Have no fear when it is serious I report it to the proper people and make sure they get help. But seriously, if people with be quiet and listen it is amazing how others who need you will tell you what's bothering them.

spring break moments

Spring Break means more time to read!! I finished a short audio story Swim, a cozy series Cat Who Moved a Mountain, and a chic lit Friday Night Knitting Club. All worth while reads~

Sipping Ginger Beer bought from the brewer at the farmer's market a few days ago, listening to the surf and such.
or
Sipping moscato and listening to dad yacking into his phone on the balcony and such.

His little quirks have been more enduring than irritating this trip. Cute little guy enjoys this vacation thing so much. He appreciates it.

Finally feeling like spring

Absolutely gorgeous day...
back in Ohio, no snow and now sunshine. So good to sit and write with the door wide open, dogs barking and sunning, lawnmowers gearing up.

Bub's and I had a bit of a date yesterday. We had a visitation to attend then we went to Panera for brunch. Bub's had his usual broccoli cheddar soup bowl and a cheese danish while I enjoyed a toasted bagel and vanilla latte.
I heard Goodwill had 50% off so we dropped by and I scored some Tory Burch sunnys and a Skagen watch, some figurines and vintage sheet.
Then we went to Plato's to see if we could score some cash and once again I'm disappointed that they seem to have worn items in the store and they turn away my Steve Madden heels I've worn 2 times?!?! But they gave Bub's $8 for his jeans and he found some shoes that made him cry. Afterwards we scooted over to Barnes and Noble to pick up a book Oprah introduced me to and viola we called it a day.
Well not really. I came home and met the neighbors. Mary and Chelsea. Chelsea is going to be a new friend for the girls especially. She is a special friend and she really liked the girls. I told her to come out with us in her motorized scooter anytime. Mary seems delightful to so I'm pretty excited about that.
Then I took Bub's to a birthday party and picked up Terry's pizza. It was delicious! As usual.

Bub's best friend's girlfriend is an interesting little chickadee. I worked the concession stand with her twin sister last year and we've been chummy ever since. She always comes over to see me at the games and she and Bub's chat via skype alot so she gives me a shout out when they are 'hangin'. It was a bit unnerving at first; she's very comfortable with me. But I kinda get a kick out of it now. Maybe it is a little comforting she's dating his friend so I don't feel there's any ulterior motive. Anywho he is actually 'hangin' at her house with friends today. Very scary territory here folks.

Reading quite a bit lately shall we take a look?
